Members of the Alberta Blue Cross® Community Impact team attended National Philanthropy Day on November 15 and accepted 2 awards on behalf of Alberta Blue Cross®.
National Philanthropy Day is recognized worldwide as a celebration of philanthropy and those who give. This event acknowledges and honours the outstanding achievements of individuals, foundations, corporations, fundraising volunteers and non-profit organizations who contribute their time, talents, financial support and other resources to our community and beyond.
The awards Alberta Blue Cross® received 2 awards in the health category, which recognizes people, companies and groups who have engaged in acts of charity and given their time, talent and resources to better their community and the health of others.
The Royal Alexandra Hospital Foundation nominated Alberta Blue Cross® for the first award because of our support for the Between Us lecture series and the Alberta Women’s Health Foundation. The second nomination came from the United Way of the Alberta Capital Region for our support in launching their Period Promise campaign.
“We are proud to be recognized twice in the health category at the National Philanthropy Day Awards by our partners at United Way of the Alberta Capital Region and Royal Alexandra Hospital Foundation,” says Narissa Kanji, director, Community Impact. “These 2 partnerships are focused on making a difference in the health and wellbeing of our community and we look forward to continuing our work together.”
