Alberta Blue Cross® is encouraging Indigenous young adults across the province to consider applying for its Indigenous scholarship program, which is currently accepting applications.
As part of Alberta Blue Cross®’s commitment to wellness, its long-standing Indigenous scholarship program is intended to support not only the financial wellness of students, but the overall wellness of the communities they give back to.
The Alberta Blue Cross® Indigenous scholarship program awards six, $1,500 scholarships per year based on personal goals, financial need and community involvement. Scholarship recipients are selected by an external committee with expertise in academia and Indigenous education.
“At Alberta Blue Cross®, we’re excited about the opportunity to be a part of a student’s journey to success,” says Narissa Kanji, manager of Community Impact.
Earlier this year, Alberta Blue Cross® profiled some of its 2021 Indigenous scholarship recipients on its website. The profiles not only highlight how they were coping with being in school during the pandemic but offer advice to other individuals considering pursuing post-secondary education.
More information about the scholarship program and application forms for Indigenous students are available on the Alberta Blue Cross® website at ab.bluecross.ca/aboutus/indigenous-scholarships.php.
Alberta Blue Cross® also sponsors six scholarships per year that are awarded specifically at Indigenous post-secondary institutions across Alberta.
